Ready-Set-Read!

Hello Ladies! The Launch Party was a huge success, we realized just how much we needed this club to set a foundation for our literary and social lives. We played games, laughed, talked, ate and drink and took lots of pictures. We signed our pledges and committed ourselves to the future of this book club. We acquainted ourselves with one another, and got informed and prepared for what this club has to offer. Congrats to Mattie and Jeanette for winning the raffle! Thank you all for playing important roles in our future. More details on this night will be available through the website in the coming weeks and through our quarterly newsletter. For everyone that was unable to attend, I will be contacting you in the coming weeks to go over the literature and details of the member packet. But in the meantime you can all get started on purchasing our Quarterly selections that have just been posted on the Website. (visit the book shelf page). I do encourage you all to support our authors by purchasing directly from their websites or authorized stores (http://www.borders.com/,  Barnes and Noble, etc…), but I also realize that with the economy on edge it would be frugal to purchase new or used from websites such as Amazon.com or E-bay. Please use your own judgment when purchasing. As announced at the Party, our quarterly session will be held on Friday evenings for approximately 2.5 hours at most. So you can expect an invitation for this meeting to be sent in late September for our 1st session in October. Please be sure to have your member dues by the time of the October session. We are looking forward to other events by our own members before our first session that will also be announced via email and E-vite, so please continue to stay informed throughout this time.

Member Spotlight-Although we haven’t quite started our meeting sessions there has been so much going on behind the scenes. Be on the lookout for this update in the coming weeks!

FYI- As mentioned at the Launch Party, it is vital that we have your email address in which most of you provided when completing your member profile sheet because most of our communication is by email. One tip for all us to diligently stay informed would be to set your email up on your cell phones. I don’t currently have a smart phone/droid/I-phone, but I was still able to set up my inbox on my “dumb phone”. LOL
